Notes for Contributors

Non Competitive Boating is a new section commencing 2010 and dedicated to the boaters who prefers to build, exchange information, exhibit and sail their models without the need for competitions or judging elements to their activities. There being no restriction as to the type of boats employed and clubs can be as inventive as they wish.
As this type of boating will have no eliminators or finals, the core principles and activities are vested in our affiliated clubs and societies. The section committee invites them to arrange events and gatherings throughout the season.

The content of these events are at the discretion of those involved, so long as the principle of no judging is observed. As clubs arrange dates and content the details will be advertised on the Website and in Propwash.
We anticipate some evolution to the opening rules and encourage all concerned to submit ideas to drive the section forward, thus making it even more attractive to all concerned. Most of our clubs and societies run events that are easily converted to a purely non competitive nature and at the same time giving them the opportunity to try something completely new.
Some suggested itineries: Back to Back steering, Fun gatherings, Fun courses, Course driving skills, Junior boats, Senior boats, Over 75’s, Retro boats, RNLI, Static, Special gatherings of fishing boats, submarines, tugs, yachts, etc. the list is almost endless.
